5 A.M. Club – Run Before the World Wakes Up

Today I got up at 4 a.m. I couldn’t sleep.
But I’m not a morning person. Or at least, I wasn’t.

If you can’t find time to run during the day, there’s only one real option: get up one hour earlier.

Sure, running in the evening is possible — but it’s hard. Work might run late. You might need to pick something up, help with homework, make dinner. And once you’ve eaten, you can’t just go running right away. Suddenly it’s 10 p.m., and if I run that late, I can’t fall asleep for hours.

So for me, mornings work best. 5 a.m. is early, but the payoff is massive.

The world is still quiet. Everyone’s asleep. I can go through my routine: coffee, reading, a bit of meditation, then I hit the road.

And when I come back? The day hasn’t even really started —
and I’m already at the office with over 10,000 steps on my Garmin.
That feeling? You’re ahead. You’re moving. You’ve already won something — before most people even wake up.

That’s how I want to start the day.

What works for you?
