Today was my first threshold pace session since… 2018. I didn’t realize how much I’d missed this type of training. It was tough — 4 x 10 minutes at tempo pace, with 2 minutes recovery in between. Classic Jack Daniels.
The second rep is always the hardest, but I pushed through and finished strong. My last one was at 4:48 min/km — and that’s faster than the pace I’d need to run a marathon in 3h39m59s.
That’s the goal for October.
After weeks of technique work from Born to Run 2, I’m now combining it with Jack Daniels’ structured speed training. I feel like the real prep has started.
Now the big question:
Should I register for the Munich Marathon or the 3-Länder-Marathon?
What would you do?
