Today I found my old Jack Daniels Running Formula, the same book I used for my first marathon in Hamburg in 2014. His plan brought me to a whole new level.
Funny thing is, just a few days ago I was excited about my progress with Born to Run 2. And I still am — today is day 77 of my technique training inspired by it. But now I’m going back to my roots.
Daniels’ plan is simple and powerful:
🏃♂️ High weekly mileage
⚡️ Speed session on Wednesday
🦵 Long run on Sunday
🟰 10k on the other days
❌ Monday is rest day
I really love its simplicity.
My goal? A sub-3-hour marathon — 2:59:59.
I’m 44, 10 kilos overweight, never a pro athlete, and my current best is 3:47.
Hard to believe? Maybe.
But I’m dreaming big.
And I will make it.
Any questions?
